Don’t DIG your grave with your own KNIFE and FORK
"Don’t dig your grave with your own knife and fork.” ~ English Proverb
I really like that proverb. It's a perfect reminder that we are what we eat and of just how important it is for us to respect our body. I am not one to post motivational reminders on the fridge, but this just might be one that makes the cut!
Love Your Body!
Respecting our bodies does not always come easy. Life happens and emotional eating can take center stage. Stress, grief, anger, happiness, and other emotions trigger our desire for the foods that comfort us. We salt when we shouldn't, over-indulge in the very foods that we know are not nourishing our bodies, snack when we don't need to, and even worse, we grab unhealthy, sometimes super-sized, on-the-go snacks. We don't worry about the old saying that "bigger snacks mean bigger slacks"! Not until our bodies are reacting in the form of disease or weight gain to the unhealthy foods we punish it with.
Simply put, we get off track and forget to respect and properly nourish the very body that we were born in. Aren't we in a sense in a partnership with our bodies? So why do we punish it?
All in all, we need to strive to be mindful of how what we eat effects our long-term health. We need to educate ourselves about food additives and how they effect our biochemical balance. We need to read food labels and learn about nutritional values. We should learn to maintain a diet that will meet our needs without harming ourselves by our choices. #yourhealthylifespand #herbalife
